THE LIFE COACHING EFFECT

Growing up on an island, I felt limited with opportunities and as a result I developed a strong interest for the outside world, its different cultures and its languages. I dreamt big and along the way I was told that dreams are just dreams, not reality. I learnt to do what was expected of me instead of questioning what I really wanted.

However deep down I always knew I had a greater potential. This belief in myself only became bigger with time. It gave me the courage to go after my dreams one after the other. I left my beautiful island to realize my dream of going to college abroad. I studied in Paris, London and Munich and I graduated with a Master’s degree in Literature as well as a Postgraduate diploma in Media Management. I then moved to Sydney, Australia and landed my dream job as a Marketing Manager in the women’s magazines industry.

The more I traveled and lived abroad, the more clarity I gained about who I really was and who I wanted to be. Far away from home I felt free and reinvented myself. I was reborn. 

I remembered my childhood dream of living one day in Los Angeles to be an actress, model, and singer. Just the thought of it seemed totally ridiculous and unattainable. Yet I knew that I could do it. I felt bold and I went for it. A few months later I was granted one of the most selective US work visas and I was able to move to Los Angeles to pursue my dream, quitting my successful magazine career in Australia. I never regretted taking this leap of faith. Fast forward a few years, I have now been on billboards, print ads, and TV commercials across the world. 

 

Moral of my story: if you can see it, you can do it. Sometimes we just need help to see the path to success. A few years ago I developed a passion for life coaching for exactly that reason: helping others achieve their goals. I’m a now a Master Certified Life Coach.
